Who’s the best in the Westpac Auckland Business Awards West – 2016?
A great night was had at the end of October celebrating business success at the Westpac Auckland Business Awards West as the category and overall supreme business award winners were revealed. These awards showcase excellence in business, innovation and best practice across Auckland North, South, West and Central.
RBA, along with the West Auckland Business Club, proudly sponsored the Employer of the Year award which was won by McDonald’s West Auckland. RBA sees these awards highlighting great businesses that are doing great things – which is vital to the region’s economic growth.
This year there were four local Rosebank Businesses that were finalists- MYHR, SPIKE, Westie Food Group and Josef Rakich Fitness. The calibre of finalists was impressive and was a difficult task for the judges to determine the winners. However, someone has to win- Congratulations to Thomas Civil and Engineering Consultants – who took out the overall Supreme Business Award and to local Rosebank Business, Josef Rakich Fitness – winner of the Best Emerging Business Award. Huge congratulations too, to all the category winners and finalists.
Josef Rakich Fitness (JRF) identified an opportunity to start an online personal training business in 2012, offering personalised diet and exercise programs. JRF offers all the benefits of a personal trainer without the expensive hourly rate, and their unique brand of online personal training has inspired thousands of men and women to reach their fitness goals. Today the business has customers in the US, Australia, UK, Canada as well as in NZ. More recently they have launched the business in India with “an Indian Voice”.
Sitting down with John Franich, General Manager, asking him what does this award mean for the team, he told us: “For us it is recognition of the hard work we have put in for that last 4 – 5 years. Also, having the validation from external parties that we are on the right track from where we started, where we are now, to where we are going in the future. It felt good to be showcased along some great businesses and was honoured to be a finalist and a winner.”
“It has given us confidence for the next phase for JRF as we want to incorporate wellness programs for businesses to offer their staff,” added John.
