The Rosebank Business Community is very focused on keeping the unique features of its peninsula pristine and free from any industrial waste.
On either side of the peninsula the mangrove swamps adjacent to the Whau River and Costal Reserve are protected, and the local Maori take great pride in maintaining them as fishing grounds and sacred sites. They are steeped in history going back to the early settlers, and the tradition of protection is carried on to this very day.
Recycling is an important part of the ethos of the peninsula and the businesses have embraced the catch phrase "reduce, reuse, recycle". All new buildings and industries have a moral as well as legal responsibility to adhere to that principal and preserve the lush vegetation and varied bird life that inhabits our shores.
