Mike has spent many years in the commercial world through which he has gained his extensive knowledge of businesses and networking experience. Mike joined Sonata Laboratories in Dunedin in 1978 and was transferred to the Auckland office on Rosebank Road in 1981 to take up the position of branch manager and then moved into marketing.

Mike then joined Lamy NZ, a Wella (a joint venture) as the General Manager. From here he joined the Unichem Pharmacy group and was largely responsible for directing their changeover from being a pharmaceutical wholesaler to retail pharmacy brand chain that has since progressed to become Unichem Life pharmacies.

He operated as an event manager setting up the very first NBR -SKY Corporate Golf series in NZ in 1993 and then became involved in publishing advertising newspapers as an independent project director until 2002. He reconnected with Rosebank in 2002 undertaking a research project with Reliance Transport that ultimately led to the establishment of the Rosebank Business Association by Mike, Mark Darrah from Reliance and Perry Scarfe from Tyres 4U.

Once the RBA became established Mike became Business Manager and then General Manager. Mike is a committed family man, golfer and sport follower having played representative Rugby, Rugby league and golf. Today his passion is horse racing and being part of the Showcause Syndicate.

Today by being part of the RBA Mike's passion is to effectively work with local government to actively advance the interests of businesses, create a strong networking environment in which members can thrive and create strong community support.
