Raymond is the MD of World Moving & Storage, a local, inter-city and international furniture removal company, and has been operating in the Rosebank area since 1998 with this and his previous transport business. Being a property owner in this area he has a keen interest in what he says is “one of the most convenient places in Auckland to run a service based business”. World Moving has 33 staff working in Saunders Place and they recently have started an operation in Christchurch which has quickly grown to 15 staff.

Raymond’s background shows strength toward start-up businesses having what he calls “5 or 6 different chapters” so far in his working and business career, but World Moving is his longest stint in one place, having starting it in 2004

Business Philosophy

Business philosophy to Raymond is all about people, people, people, a good marketing profile and a fun, trusting environment. World Moving puts a lot of effort into training both work and life skills. He also comments that he believes no deal is a good deal, between staff
or clients, unless both parties are happy.

Personal

Having been born in Helensville and raised in Kumeu – Raymond now lives in Bayswater, Northshore with his wife Tanya and two kids. He is a keen armchair sportsman, social fisherman (as long as beer is included) and a closet petrol head (not that his wife lets him watch TV much). Being keen walkers and explorers, they spend a lot of time, all year round in their caravan enjoying every nook and cranny of what New Zealand has to offer.
