Youth Services West – Supporting young people through education, training or employment
Youth Horizons West is a division of Youth Horizons providing a range of services to meet the needs of children, young people and their families/whānau with challenging conduct, anti-social behaviour and/or mental health needs. They work with young people and young parents to find the best options for education, training or work based learning that will help them build their skills and find suitable employment.
Young people are supported by Personal Advisors who work alongside them giving the support they need to achieve qualifications and working towards achieving financial independence.
Who is their service for?
This service works with two specific groups of young people:
· Young people aged 16-17 who are not in education, training or work-based learning to support them into employment, training and/or education.
· Young people 16-18 and young parents 16-19 who are receiving government financial assistance to assist them in meeting their obligations for receiving support.
